Frequently asked questions.

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained support person who offers emotional, physical, and informational care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I’m not a medical provider, so I don’t deliver babies, perform medical exams, or make medical decisions. I will never speak for you. Instead, I’m there to help you feel grounded, confident, supported, and informed every step of the way.

Do you replace my partner or support person?

Not at all! I support both of you. All together we can make a strong team. I help your partner feel confident too by:

  • Guiding them with comfort techniques

  • Helping them take breaks

  • Reassuring them during intense moments

  • Keeping them included and supported

My goal is to help your partner shine, not step into their place.

What if I have anxiety, trauma, or a complicated birth history?

You are safe with me. I offer trauma informed, judgement-free support. If you’ve experienced:

  • Anxiety

  • PTSD

  • Medical trauma

  • Previous birth trauma

  • Pregnancy loss

  • Abuse history

I hold space for your emotions, help you feel grounded, and work with your care team to make sure you feel safe and supported. You never have to explain anything you don’t want to - you set the pace and boundaries.
